Angels Like You Can Fly

September 15, 2006 on 10:07 am | In Snapshot |

This photo might suggest I’m not in a good mood. That morose expression, the distant eyes, the checked shirt and mad granddad glasses. The filters that bring back to mind C&W record covers from the mid-1960s.

Truth is, I’m feeling kinda brilliant today.

There’s no real reason. I mean, my life is pretty excellent. I’m loved by good people, and I’m setting myself up to do what I love. A body could do a lot worse off.

I don’t feel ‘happy’, so much. But I do feel like, when presented with today, I’m gonna knock it out of the park. It’s not often I’m self-assured, so I’m revelling in the sensation while it’s still here.

Fred Avril - Velvet Blues

Clattery, sinister, orchestral, sexy. Pretty cool album too, though not much sounds like this track.

  1. You should feel brilliant because you are! You have a brilliant mind, a brilliant heart and a sence of respect for the people around you that lacks in to many people today.

  2. I don’t visit many people’s blogs. I visit three, actually. Two are politically charged gay black men with obviously lots of racial talk and fashion and yadda yadda. And then this. I have no idea why this blog appeals to me, but it does. So I figured you ought to know that despite having nothing with which to appease my increasingly hyperactive brain nodes, I visit your blog almost regularly. I didn’t even read this post really aside something about grandaddies and the ’60s. Keep rocking in the free world.

  3. Happy is relative. One person’s happy is another person’s *belch* sad. Scuse me. ;) A
